First of all I have to admit, it is not easy to take the strong feelings in words that the novel "Lucian" in it and also those that have moved me to read. Here is my feeble attempt:
comes in a sleepless night, Rebecca at the window of her room and discovered on the street a boy who looks up at her intently. Strangely, it makes this observation not afraid, but filling them with peace of mind. From that moment on, she meets the mysterious boy again and again so often that it just a coincidence may be more. She feels attracted to him, and he seems to have the same effect. Over time, experiences Rebecca, that he is Lucian and knows nothing about his past. It is as if it would it not be - and he has no hand lines. He has lost his memory and can not say how he knows them. In his dreams he sees scenes from her past and the future, and Rebecca has a frightening dream that keeps recurring. She is confused about the closeness she feels to Lucian; whenever meet Rebecca and Lucian, both have a strange feeling of great familiarity. They realize that they love each other and belong together. Mistrust and misunderstanding lead to the young couple is separated, and the consequences are terrible for Rebecca. It recognizes that Lucian is more for them that they can not be without him.
In Rebecca's environment, there are many interesting characters, all portrayed in color and alive. As is her best friend Suse, which has its own problems, yet there is always Rebecca. Your (ex) friend Sebastian does not just worried about her, he is torn between affection and jealousy. Rebecca's mother is a psychologist and draws its own conclusions from the link between their daughter and the strange boy. As another strong personality, I like to call the English teacher of girls, his students with great zeal the love of the works would bring a deceased writer close. Insights into his lessons a little amusing to take part in the story.
Isabel Abedi has written "Lucian" a wonderful novel about love in all its facets. The story is about the great love between Rebecca and Lucian, but also by the love of good friends who are concerned about one - or the love of parents, which is so vast that it consists of great concern and misunderstanding out maybe sometimes just the wrong thing. The plot develops in a direction where opening up a whole new dimension and you think of other, unknown spheres begins. The mediated message I find very beautiful and comforting: No one is alone.
The end is extremely sad and beautiful at the same time, it's just consistent.
Julia Nachtmann, spokeswoman for the audio book read, the story is very emotional and expressive, and makes listening to a unique and intense experience.
